The mysterious stone structures at the peak of Mount Ochi are among the most important and enigmatic monuments of Evia, built with massive stone blocks and offering breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea.

The famous Castello Rosso, or Red Castle, is a 13th-century medieval fortress built upon older Byzantine foundations. It later came under Venetian rule and stands today as one of Karystos’s most significant historical landmarks.

An impressive engineering feat from the Roman period that transported water to ancient Karystos, serving as a testament to the area’s rich history and sophisticated organization.

Near the village of Myloi lie massive monolithic columns from the ancient quarries of Karystos, carved from the famous green cipollino marble that was highly prized and used in significant Roman monuments.

This small seaside fortress is a characteristic landmark of the town, built to protect the harbor during the period of Venetian rule.
